Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to laboring women and newborns, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. Collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality maternal and neonatal care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and interventions following established protocols to manage pain and support labor progress.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans based on patient response and clinical needs.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care practices.
• Perform technical procedures such as fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration within scope of practice.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
• Current active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio or a compact state.
• Valid AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• BSN degree preferred.
• COVID vaccination required; provide vaccination card if applicable.
• Good clinical skills in postpartum, nursery, and labor management.
