About This Role The Staff Nurse in Nursing Emergency Services at Mount Sinai Morningside is responsible for patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. Highlights Pay: $64/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Morningside Department/Unit: Nursing Emergency Services - STL Schedule: Full-Time, Evening shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Develop discharge plans consistent with patient status and inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year. Experience: 1+ year of nursing experience required. Licenses & Certifications: Current RN License in New York. BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required for specific departments. PALS certification required for specific departments. Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate required for specific departments.
