Receiving Inspector

Position would require the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech.
US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Required.

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing incoming inspection of purchased parts, components, and materials to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and applicable quality standards.
This position supports client manufacturing and product quality operations by ensuring incoming material meets applicable requirements before being released for use. The Receiving Inspector works closely with Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to identify and resolve incoming material and documentation issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform receiving inspection of incoming mechanical components, piece parts, assemblies, and materials in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and purchase order requirements.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
• Review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, certifications, and supplier documentation to determine product acceptance.
• Use inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, Smart Scope/vision measurement systems, and other precision measurement tools.
• Support CMM inspection activities as qualified and required.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain appropriate inspection and quality records.
• Identify and document nonconforming material and initiate or support the appropriate quality notification/nonconformance process.
• Work with Quality Engineering and other functions to resolve inspection discrepancies and determine appropriate material disposition paths.
• Verify supplier certifications and documentation packages for compliance with purchase order and quality requirements.
• Perform inspection activities within established turnaround-time and production-priority requirements.
• Support sampling inspection plans, including AQL and approved Skip Lot processes, as applicable.
• Maintain traceability and proper control of inspected, accepted, rejected, and quarantined material.
• Support continuous improvement activities focused on inspection efficiency, quality, and reduction of receiving inspection backlog.
• Maintain inspection equipment, work areas, and records in accordance with applicable procedures and quality-system requirements.
• Support internal and external quality audits as required.
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in receiving inspection, mechanical inspection, dimensional inspection, manufacturing quality, or a related inspection role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Working knowledge of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical measurement equipment.
• Basic understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to document inspection results accurately and clearly.
• Ability to work effectively with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional organizations.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with CMM, Smart Scope, vision systems, optical comparators, and/or profilometers.
• Experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) or a similar ERP/quality system.
• Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements.
• Familiarity with AQL sampling and Skip Lot inspection methodologies.
• Experience reviewing Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, special-process certifications, and supplier quality documentation.
• Familiarity with nonconforming material control and MRB processes.

*CMM Programmer / Operator*
The role of the CMM Programmer/Operator is pivotal in the production process, conducting consistent inspections on products, (parts, assemblies, raw materials, etc.) finished products and components, per drawings/specifications, to ensure products meet quality standards prior to distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Primary
• Determine part inspection requirements from internal or customer drawings.
• Create or edit programs for the coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Ability to validate CMM programs
• Utilize the programs to complete dimensional inspection using the coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Understand and utilize GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to complete detailed part inspection.
• Log and maintain inspection data as needed for evaluating and reporting.
• Maintain calibration system and conduct calibrations as needed.
• Train team members on the operation and programming of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and provide ongoing assistance to resolve any issues encountered during CMM operation.

Secondary
• Cross train on overlapping job functions.
• Conduct finished product inspections with hand gauges and measurement systems.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• High School degree.

Basic Qualifications:
• Strong ability to develop inspection programs, using CMM Manager software or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong proficiency interpreting GD&T standards.
• 4-8 years of CMM inspection experience.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to pass vision and color perception examination.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior Aerospace industry or similar regulated industry experience.
• Experience with SAP.
• 2-3 years minimum experience with TSPACE Plus Portable Measuring Arm programming and operation.
• Ability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
