Quality Assurance Inspector - Poway - 1st Shift - $24/hr

This role focuses on performing in-process and final visual inspections on circuit boards across multiple stations on a production line. You will move between up to ten different stages, using a tablet-based system that clearly guides each inspection step. The position requires consistent attention to detail, strong work habits, and the ability to stand and move throughout the production area for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections at various stages of the production line based on requests such as mid-line checks at specific stations.
• Conduct final inspections on circuit boards to verify that products meet established quality standards.
• Use a tablet to receive and follow detailed inspection instructions for each station and task.
• Visually inspect circuit boards, connectors, wiring, and related components for defects, damage, or improper assembly.
• Check components using hands-on methods (such as gently manipulating or verifying the placement of parts) without traditional measurement tools.
• Rotate between up to ten different production stations throughout the day as inspection needs arise.
• Maintain focus and accuracy while standing and moving on the production floor for the duration of the shift.
• Document inspection results accurately using the provided systems and follow established quality control procedures.
• Escalate issues or nonconformities to the appropriate team members according to quality guidelines.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work area by following workplace policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspection work with a strong eye for detail.
• Ability to read in English and follow written instructions provided on a tablet.
• Comfort working with circuit boards, connectors, and wiring in a production environment.
• Ability to stand and move between different production lines and stations for the entire shift.
• Consistently positive attitude, strong effort, and reliable attendance.
• Basic familiarity with quality control or quality assurance activities in a manufacturing setting.
• Comfort performing inspections without the use of traditional measurement tools such as calipers or micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with wiring or assembling components in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior exposure to quality inspection or quality check processes, including visual inspection.
• Familiarity with basic measuring concepts, even if not using tools in this role.
• Experience working with or around systems such as Oracle or RMA processes in a production or quality context.
• Previous experience in a contract-to-hire role or similar production environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility in Poway with over 100 employees, focused on power conversion systems and related product lines such as scalable CAB1000 and Power Drawer solutions used in large-scale deployments. You will work on a first-shift schedule from 5:00 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. The environment is clean, organized, and production-oriented, with multiple stations on the line and frequent movement between them throughout the day. You will use a tablet as your primary tool for receiving inspection instructions and recording results, while performing hands-on, visual inspections without traditional measurement instruments. The facility offers a dedicated breakroom with free coffee and snacks, and the role is structured as contract-to-hire, providing an opportunity to demonstrate your performance in a structured, supportive setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POWAY, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
