We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our team. MIRATE has been on the North America's 50 Best Bars list for 3 years running, on the Pinnacle Guide with 2 pins, and countless other nominations and awards in it's brief existence. 

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the restaurant. This role oversees all FOH operations while partnering closely with the Executive Chef and Beverage Director to ensure operational excellence in both BOH and Bar, financial success, and an outstanding guest experience.

The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader who thrives in a high-volume, hospitality-driven environment, understands the importance of culture and accountability, and has a passion for developing people.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

• Lead, coach, and develop all front-of-house managers and hourly team members.

• Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture.

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional talent.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.

• Hold managers and staff accountable to company standards and expectations.

Guest Experience

• Champion exceptional hospitality and ensure every guest receives an unforgettable experience.

• Resolve guest concerns professionally and proactively.

• Build relationships with regular guests and actively participate in MÍRATE's VIP guest recognition program.

• Maintain visible floor leadership during service.

Operations

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations.

• Ensure consistency in service standards, cleanliness, organization, and execution.

• Monitor labor scheduling to meet financial goals while maintaining service excellence.

• Maintain compliance with health, safety, alcohol service, and labor regulations.

• Ensure all SOPs are consistently followed and continuously improved.

Financial Performance

• Manage restaurant profitability through labor, purchasing, inventory, and cost controls.

• Analyze weekly and period P&L statements.

• Develop action plans to improve sales and profitability.

• Monitor key performance indicators including:

  • Sales

  • Labor

  • Food Cost

  • Beverage Cost

  • Guest Satisfaction

  • Employee Retention

Collaboration

• Partner closely with the Executive Chef on daily operations and service execution.

• Work alongside the Beverage Director to support one of Los Angeles' leading agave-focused beverage programs.

• Collaborate with ownership and senior leadership to achieve company goals and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of General Manager experience in a high-volume, chef-driven, full-service restaurant.

• Proven leadership and team development experience.

• Strong understanding of restaurant financials, budgeting, labor management, and inventory controls.

• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

• Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.

• Experience with POS, reservation, scheduling, and inventory management systems.

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fine dining or upscale casual experience.

• Knowledge of Mexican cuisine, agave spirits, wine, and cocktail programs.

• Experience opening restaurants or leading operational improvements.

• Demonstrated success developing future restaurant leaders.
