Pastoral Care Manager

Job Summary and Responsibilities The Pastoral Care Manager will take responsibility for the supervision and oversight of the staff and functions of the hospital chaplains. This position is also responsible for providing spiritual care to patients, families and employees. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. Provide direct spiritual care to patients, families and employees. Serve as the weekday day shift hospital chaplain. Respond to referrals from patients, families, employees and physicians; document patient interactions in the patient record/EMR. Act as a liaison with clergy members in the community. Conduct or delegate quarterly burial service in Williamson County for fetuses/products of conception. Interview, hire, train new chaplains. Provide direct supervision to all chaplains, including scheduling of on‑call chaplain coverage for the hospital and conducting annual performance evaluations. Complete Kronos/payroll timekeeping procedures accurately and timely. Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills; able to effectively intervene in difficult situations in a professional manner. Qualifications Masters of Divinity Degree from an accredited theological seminary or university or equivalent. Preferred: Two years of supervisory responsibilities, postgraduate work and one year of clinical pastoral education. Previous experience in a hospital setting and strong Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel experience. Preferred: Certification by one of the national chaplains certifying bodies (e.g. NACC, APC, etc.).
