Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift: 12

Experience: 2 years of acute care experience required.
License: Must hold a valid RN license.
Certifications: AHA BLS required.

Must-Have:
- Teaching hospital experience required.
- Experience with oncology patients.
- Skills in accessing/managing ports, central line care, post-surgical care, and wound care.

Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology.
The nurse will provide care to patients with a known cancer diagnosis recovering from surgical interventions.
Majority of care focuses on procedures and diagnoses related to the abdomen or pelvic area, including but not limited to Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, and Stomach cancers.
No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered in this unit.
Nursing staff will help patients achieve specific post-operative milestones for discharge.
Familiarity with Epic charting system is required.
Floating to other units or facilities may be necessary based on needs.
Weekend shifts will be required according to unit needs.
Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment with flexible staffing ratios.
This unit employs standard medical equipment, with innovative technologies incorporated in workflows.
Nurses will receive educational resources to address knowledge gaps related to specific procedures.
