SVP, Director of Finance, Private Markets

SVP, Director of Finance – Private Markets Base salary $260,000 + bonus $90,000. Hybrid schedule (3 days in office). Preferred experience: public and private markets mix; CPA certification highly desired. Audit experience with financial services, asset management, or alternative investment clients. Private side experience in private credit, private equity, hedge funds and multi‑strategy frameworks. If the candidate has only public or only private experience, a CPA is required. Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting Direct the full scope of accounting operations , including quarterly closing cycles, NAV production, income/expense allocations, and calculation of distribution waterfalls and fund‑level returns. Validate and analyze complex distribution waterfalls in alignment with governing legal agreements, ensuring precision of carried interest, preferred returns, and catch‑up provisions. Evaluate partnership and fund‑level performance metrics (including IRRs and other key indicators) on a quarterly and ad‑hoc basis. Facilitate internal management reporting regarding AUM, revenue, and fund economics for presentation to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Fund Operations & Liquidity Management Supervise credit facility administration , encompassing covenant compliance monitoring, borrowing base analysis, and formal lender reporting. Direct the investor capital call and distribution lifecycle , overseeing timing of notices, funding mechanics, and final reconciliations. Strategic Business Partnership Act as a senior finance liaison to Investment Teams on business development and management initiatives. Structure new funds and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), including fee frameworks and allocation logic. Advise on investment structures to mitigate cash and tax drag, using blockers and navigating ECI/FIRPTA considerations. Address investor due diligence inquiries (DDQs) with sophisticated analysis. Regulatory, Compliance & Tax Coordination Partner with Compliance teams to ensure timely regulatory filings (Form PF, Form ADV, AIFMD, and jurisdictional requirements). Drive cross‑functional collaboration between Tax, Legal, Valuation teams, external auditors, and fund administrators to maintain seamless operations. Governance, Controls & Process Improvement Champion automation and process‑enhancement initiatives to scale fund accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency. Manage external service provider relationships (administrators, auditors, tax consultants) and ensure high standards for deliverables and SLA compliance. Provide strategic support for due diligence related to new platform launches, acquisitions, and special projects.
