You’ll also build your own future, with exciting opportunities for development and advancement.Your OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Senior Mining Consultant with subject matter expertise in underground material handling for potash / polyhalite to support a strategic global project.Your Key ResponsibilitiesSubject matter expert in underground material handling for potash / polyhalite and ability to provide technical guidance to a team of global engineers and designers.Provide technical guidance for large projects of high complexity.Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all mining engineered systems.Participates in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.Participates in constructability review.Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.Leads and provides guidance in the development of new standards and specifications for the mining group.Review project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.Reviews proposals for mining projects.Your Capabilities and CredentialsStrong knowledge of industry standards.Technical knowledge in multiple underground and surface mining methods.Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of projects.Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.Expertise in mine health and safety regulations.Strong presentation and interview skills.Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.Assists in business development of current and new clientsAssists in the evaluation and hiring of new team members.Willing to mentor and teach your expertise to our mining team.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.20+ years of relevant experience.Preferably with a strong operational background in career.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
