Job Description Minimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required. School Psychologist Position Available in Edinburg, Virginia Overview: Edinburg Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting the academic achievement and mental health of our students. Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning. Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for interventions and accommodations. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support student success. Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals. Provide consultation to teachers and staff on behavioral and academic interventions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and services provided. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school psychology. Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program. Virginia state licensure as a School Psychologist. Certification from the Virginia Department of Education for School Psychologists. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to special education. Strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required Licensure and Certifications: Virginia State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice as a School Psychologist in Virginia. Virginia Department of Education Certification: Certification for School Psychologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
