JOB SUMMARY

Hillside Provisions is a family-owned, new cafe and restaurant opening in Summer of 2026 in Harrison, NY. We will offer exceptional craft coffee, morning, daytime, and evening services, aiming to create a new level of dining experience in Westchester County. Hillside is looking for a Servers & Captains to deliver polished, attentive hospitality throughout dining services.

All front of house position will report to the Server Captain and General Manager. All positions are responsible for providing polished, attentive, service-forward hospitality while executing food and beverage service with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism. These roles requires strong menu knowledge, situational awareness, and a guest-first mindset, as well as a true entrepreneurial spirit towards making Hillside Provisions a success.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for guests, delivering warm, welcoming, and attentive service throughout the dining experience.
• Maintain full knowledge of the menu, ingredients, allergens, and daily features to guide guest selections thoughtfully.
• Communicate effectively to understand guest preferences and anticipate needs without intrusion.
• Present food and beverages with care, precision, and adherence to service timing expectations.
• Maintain awareness of table pacing and dining room atmosphere throughout each visit.
• Maintain composure and a positive, hospitable demeanor during high-volume dining periods.

• Take accurate orders and enter them correctly and promptly into the POS.
• Serve food and beverages according to service standards, table positions, and timing expectations.
• Process guest payments accurately, responsibly, and securely.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar, and support staff regarding orders, guest pacing, and modifications.

• Maintain the energy and professional atmosphere of the dining room.
• Contribute to an environment that reflects Hillside Provisions' commitment to quality and hospitality.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of assigned section, service stations, and dining areas.
• Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and responsible beverage service protocols.
• Ensure the space remains orderly, functional, and welcoming from opening to close.

• Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, bussing, and front-of-house team members to support seamless service.
• Communicate effectively with teammates about table turns, orders, guest needs, and responsibilities.
• Hold yourself and others accountable to Hillside Provisions standards professionally.
• Support fellow teammates during challenging or peak service periods.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment.

• Prior serving experience preferred (open to candidates with strong aptitude, hospitality mindset, and eagerness to learn).
• Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse guest interactions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and remain composed under pressure.
• Familiarity with POS systems and accurate order/payment entry preferred.
• Solid foundational knowledge of or genuine interest in culinary preparation, wine, beer, craft cocktails, and food safety.

• Passion for hospitality and high-touch guest service.

• Ability to lift and carry service trays, bus tubs, dishware, and beverage cases weighing 25–50 pounds.
• Ability to do repetitive physical work, including carrying trays, polishing glassware/silverware, and clearing tables.
• Able to work in small spaces in close proximity to others in a fast-paced environment.
• Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, and lift/carry/push/pull objects.
• Ability to traverse all parts of the dining room, kitchen, and bar quickly and safely.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8+ hours per shift.
