Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the ED, triage acuity, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient status.
- Administer IV medications, therapies, and blood products as ordered; manage IV access and fluid therapy per protocol.
- Document nursing actions, patient education, teaching, observations, and patient responses in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate handoffs at each transition.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, including diagnostic testing, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Provide nursing care across the admission to discharge continuum; function as charge nurse and/or preceptor as needed to support team members and patient flow.

Requirements
- Licenses and certifications: Current RN license in Maine required; candidates with licensure hits will not be considered. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience; at least 1 year of prior critical care nursing experience; willingness and ability to serve in charge nurse and preceptor roles if needed.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Additional: Ability to work in a high-volume ED setting; candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the assignment location.
