Maintenance TechnicianThe Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has five member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA's plants include fluid milk, cheese, ultrafiltered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk.MMPA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for 3rd shift to support the efficient operation of our production facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Pump/motor maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.Valve maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.Variable speed drive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.Fan and blower maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.Steam Boiler control monitoring.Ability to fill out monitoring log sheets and chartsAir compressor and related systems maintenance, and monitoring.Ammonia system monitoring.Glycol systems operation, maintenance, and monitoring.Basic skill in troubleshooting and repair.Ability to learn Pasteurizer and related systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairOSHA Knowledge of safe work practicesUnderstanding of liquid flow in process piping through pumps, valves and lines.While this list is extensive, it is not comprehensive. Other tasks may be assigned as required to properly maintain production equipment, structures, grounds or utilities.Qualifications:Journeyman card or four (4) years of equivalent manufacturing experienceAbility to obtain an industrial lift truck operator permitHS Diploma or equivalentAbility to pass a drug test and background checkWillingness to work 2nd shift in a 24/7 operation, with holidays and weekends requiredPreferred but not required:Heat exchanger (Plate, Shell/Tube, Triple Tube or other) maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.Hot water set operation, maintenance, and monitoringIce builder operation, maintenance, and monitoring.Separator and related systems maintenance, troubleshooting and repairHomogenizer pump maintenance and repairHVAC PM, CM, and monitoring.
