Investment Funds Senior Associate or Counsel | San Francisco | Am Law 200 ranked

Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel Investment Funds Attorney to join its San Francisco, California office.

This is a 100 percent transactional role focused on sophisticated private funds work, including advising fund sponsors on formation and fundraising and advising institutional investors on commitments to private investment vehicles.

The platform offers a collaborative, partner led environment with direct exposure to sophisticated sponsor and investor clients and the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of matters as a senior team member.

The Opportunity

You will work across the lifecycle of private fund matters, including structuring, drafting and negotiating fund documentation and side letters, managing investor diligence and negotiations, and advising on governance and ongoing operational and regulatory issues, including 1940 Act related considerations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel Investment Funds Attorney with:

• More than six years of substantive investment funds experience advising sponsors and or investors in alternative investment funds
• Strong fund formation capabilities including structuring, fundraising process management, investor negotiations, governance and ongoing compliance
• General experience with 1940 Act matters, with 40 Act fund experience welcomed
• California Bar admission in good standing, or ability to become admitted in California
• Comfort working in office five days per week in San Francisco
