Typical construction laborer duties include site preparation, material handling, cleanup, trenching, tool operation, and assisting skilled trades. Key Responsibilities Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment. Prepare and clean job sites, including removing debris and hazards. Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other skilled trades. Dig trenches, backfill holes, and perform basic site preparation. Use hand and power tools such as drills, saws, hammers, and other construction equipment. Set up and take down temporary structures, barriers, and work areas as directed. Perform demolition, cleanup, and general labor duties. Follow job-site safety procedures and wear required PPE. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and skilled tradespeople. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Construction experience preferred but not required for entry-level positions. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Dependable transportation and ability to report to job sites on time. Ability to follow directions and work effectively with a team. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred. OSHA 10 or other construction safety training is a plus. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Work Environment This position may involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and working outdoors.
