Attorney - Judge Advocate

This is a full-time position for the role of Marine Corps Judge Advocate (Attorney). As an attorney for the Marine Corps, you will provide legal counsel and expertise on various matters, including military justice, labor and employment law, administrative law, and family law. Day-to-day responsibilities include representing clients, prosecuting or defending cases, offering legal guidance to command leadership, and addressing a range of legal issues faced by the Marine Corps. Marine Judge Advocates are officers first, attorneys second. Responsibilities Represent the United States in criminal prosecutions and courts-martial Defend Marines accused of offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice Advise commanders on operational, administrative, and international law matters Provide legal assistance to Marines, Sailors, and their families Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and investigations Serve as a leader of Marines, responsible for their welfare, training, and development Locations Southern California Hawaii National Capital Region North Carolina South Carolina Japan Basic Qualifications Current or in-progress Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Strong academic record, leadership potential, and commitment to public service Possesses, or is willing to work towards, above-average physical fitness Salary/Benefits $100,000-$150,000/year Non-taxable housing and subsistence allowances Public Service Loan Forgiveness Comprehensive healthcare package (family included) 7% matching Retirement Plan $110k in continuation bonuses Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits for you or your dependents #J-18808-Ljbffr United States Marine Corps
