RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for all shifts
• May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Required to work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Use of rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions
• May work without CNA support
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical units
• Serves adult and geriatric patients with primary Pulmonary/GI diagnoses
• Daily census of 27 patients, no ventilator beds on this unit
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required

The hospital provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
