RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM on a 3x12 schedule
• Provide care for stroke, neurology, and general medicine patients in a telemetry PCU setting
• Maintain patient ratios typically 1:5 with staffing goal of 1:4
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Manage IV drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, and Ketamine
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical level units
• Remote telemetry monitoring with tele sitting implementation
• 32-hour orientation period required
• One year of nursing experience required, travel experience preferred

This major acute care facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with over 700 licensed beds and maintains Magnet designation. The hospital serves as a teaching facility affiliated with a medical school and offers advanced specialty care including bariatric, trauma, and surgical services. The stroke/neuroscience unit is Joint Commission certified as a primary stroke center, providing comprehensive care for stroke and neurology patients with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
