The Shipping Clerk is responsible for following established procedures in a timely manner ensuring all shuttling and inbound receiving is completed in accordance to schedules. Ensures all required documentation is accurately completed according to SOP’s. This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate day-to-day shuttling, deliveries and shipping process according to procedures Manage dock doors in the most efficient way to avoid any congestion and or delays between in/out loads Release and assist orders with proper workflow using WMS and TMS systems Monitor and provide feedback on loaders performance in terms of productivity and quality Expedite checking-in process and assign dock doors to drivers as necessary, while ensuring all paperwork has been completed accurately and is present before receiving a load Review incoming orders for both accuracy and potential problems and communicate with materials management department as necessary Consults with supervisor on the acceptance/rejection of goods received via inspection when required Prepare required documents to ensure proper shipping of all orders (packing list and Bills of Lading) to customers or vendors Record keeping of Dietary Supplements according to SQF requirements Utilize WMS system to adjust inventory by conducting counts and adjusting inventory according to findings Responsible for delivering sample orders to corporate employees Completes reconciliation reports for pharma production QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum hourly compensation for the Shipping Clerk is $17.38. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. The actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon receipt of an offer. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years office experience within a fast-paced environment Previous warehouse/inventory/distribution experience preferred Experience with MS Excel required and warehouse management system experience a plus High school diploma or equivalent. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to work flexible hours to provide vacation/personal time off coverage as needed Organized, methodical, and detail oriented. Bilingual Spanish is preferred Basic understanding of warehousing environment Effective oral and written communication skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to sit for long periods of time, potentially up to 12 hours at a time with breaks, for extended computer, phone, and paperwork. Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform computer work. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and/or analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection of paperwork and computer work. The work is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make observations to ensure work is accurate and as requested. Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Sitting: Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for prolonged periods of time often doing computer work WORK ENVIRONMENT Office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment with activities occurring both inside and outside. The worker is subject to hazards such as physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts or moving vehicles. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions due to office or administrative work.
