However, regular, scheduled office hours are also required.Here’s what you will do:As a Data Analyst, you will serve as a technical resource for the Division of Financial Regulation for internal procedures and working with outside entities. Duties include:Conducting comprehensive studies of insurance and financial industry data, systems, processes, and business requirements to evaluate, identify and recommend process improvements that effectively reduce costs, ensure compliance, and improve service deliveryManaging and examining report filingsEnsuring timely and complete filing of all companiesWorking with companies to help gain compliance with state and federal lawsProviding technical and analytical support to health insurance compliance staffFor a complete listing of the duties and responsibilities of this position, please review the position description.Here’s what you need to qualify:Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning workORAny combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of experience professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning workRequested Skills:Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data connections, charts, conditional formatting)Advanced proficiency with database reporting, query writing, SAS, SQL, and data warehousingEffective business and technical requirements gathering/documentation skillsEffective skills in business rule writingExperience with Power BIStrong understanding of statistical methods and applied analyticsCompetence in data visualization best practices and storytelling with dataUnderstanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata managementStrong communication skills for translating technical analysis into actionable insightsSubject matter knowledge of the insurance industryExperience working with health insurance claims database systemsExperience with mental health parity and health insurance network adequacyProficiency in R for statistical analysis, visualization, and reportingExperience with ArcGIS (or other GIS platforms) for spatial data analysis and mappingStrong Python skills for data manipulation, automation, and analytics workflowsApplication information:A resume and cover letter are required for this job posting.
