A specialty food and confectionery brand expanding its brick-and-mortar presence across the East Coast is looking for a Retail Operations Manager to oversee its growing portfolio of storefront locations. This is a field-facing leadership role responsible for operational consistency, sales performance, and the development of District Managers and Store Managers across multiple locations in the New Jersey and New York market. The position reports into senior leadership and plays a direct role in the company's retail growth strategy.

Full-time. Regular regional travel to store locations is expected.

$120,000 - $180,000 Per Year

What You'll Do

You will own the operational performance of all East Coast retail locations, ensuring each store executes company standards consistently and delivers a strong customer experience. This includes regular field visits, hands-on coaching with store-level leadership, and holding district and store managers accountable to clear performance benchmarks.

People development is a core part of this role. You will lead recruitment, onboarding, and training for key retail and field leadership positions, and build succession plans that support the brand's continued growth. You will set performance goals for District Managers and Store Managers directly, and develop action plans for locations that are underperforming against sales or operational KPIs.

You will monitor sales results and operational metrics across the portfolio, partnering with store leaders to identify trends and close gaps. On the inventory side, you will collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and support new store openings and remodels as the brand expands.

Compliance is also within your scope. You will ensure all locations operate in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company safety policies, and cash handling procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 7 or more years of progressive retail operations leadership experience
• Proven track record managing multiple retail locations simultaneously
• Direct experience managing and developing District Managers and Store Managers
• Strong background in hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee relations
• Ability to travel regularly across the New Jersey and New York region

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in specialty food, confectionery, or consumer goods retail environments
• Background supporting new store openings or retail remodel projects
• Familiarity with retail inventory management and shrinkage reduction programs
• Experience partnering with supply chain or merchandising teams in a multi-unit context
