Patient Access Associate - Emergency Department

Schedule: Full-Time- Direct Hire

Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (occasional weekend required)

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and efficiently upon arrival
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Collect copays and other applicable patient payments
• Room patients and assist with patient flow throughout the department
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, and visitors
• Enter and maintain accurate patient information within the EMR system
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies and patient confidentiality standards
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient operations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare registration or patient access experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with EMR systems
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with patient information
• Comfortable handling insurance verification and patient payment collections

Schedule Requirements

• Regular schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Required to work every 3rd weekend
• Rotating holiday coverage required

This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC.

The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $47840.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
