Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating within service line required to meet facility needs
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license required (compact license must match permanent residence)
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience including rhythm interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with cardiac medications and drips (non-titration) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac medication and drip management (no titration), central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Additional skills utilized include IV therapy, PICC line management, heparin protocols, chest tube management, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration)
• Cardiac-focused patient care includes post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, TAVR, pacemaker management, and post cardiac angiogram
• Navy scrubs required
• Free parking available on-site
• Pre-assignment online modules must be completed prior to start date
• Fit testing is required; facial hair must allow for proper mask fit — no exceptions
• Up to 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of the assignment
• Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before working at any BJC facility as a traveler
