Computational Mathematician for AI Training
$80 - $100 per hourSaidGig
Apply computational mathematics expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through real-world technical examples, evaluations, and feedback on AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Document detailed computational mathematics projects that use AI coding agents, including Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, to generate and refine actionable code sequences.
- Explain workflows for navigating large codebases, debugging sophisticated issues, delivering end-to-end features, and making architectural changes.
- Provide clear written and verbal explanations of project objectives, technical challenges, decisions, and the role AI agents played in reaching outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different AI coding tools for ambiguous, open-ended mathematical and software problems.
- Submit concise reports covering project complexity, problem context, AI-supported decision-making, and the practical benefits and limitations of AI tools.
- Participate in remote consultations or knowledge-sharing sessions as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in computational mathematics, Python, complex problem solving, and technical documentation.
- Experience using AI coding agents, particularly Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, in technical workflows beyond chat-based tasks.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in writing and conversation.
- Experience applying AI agents to debugging, architectural modifications, large codebases, or ambiguous technical problem sets.
- Ability to manage remote deliverables independently and assess the value and boundaries of AI-agent use in technical settings.
- No prior AI experience is required; computational mathematics domain expertise is central to the role.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
