Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in Herndon, Virginia. The typical work schedule includes 40 hours per week with variable weekends, allowing flexibility while ensuring comprehensive care for our patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to determine their physical capabilities and limitations and develop detailed treatment plans accordingly.
• Implement treatment protocols using industry-standard methodologies and document progress through verbal, written, and electronic means.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, communicating crucial patient information and engaging in joint care planning sessions to improve patient outcomes.
• Provide consultations to other healthcare providers regarding the continuum of care for patients, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.
• Engage with patients of varying ages and cultural backgrounds, delivering care that adheres to established customer service standards and organizational ethics.
• Participate in departmental leadership initiatives, including community outreach and program development, enhancing Amedisys' visibility and community impact.
• Supervise and mentor assigned support staff, contributing to their professional growth while ensuring standards of care are upheld.
• Attend regular staff meetings and continue professional education, maintaining licensure in good standing with appropriate regulatory boards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with outpatient clients experiencing orthopedic and neurological conditions, providing care with a focus on rehabilitation and functional improvement. Your role will encompass evaluating various patient needs, tailoring treatments that promote mobility, independence, and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Proficiency in word processing and using electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist, specifically in outpatient rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
