North West Physiotherapy is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Pembroke Pines, Florida. This full-time position involves a blend of patient evaluation, treatment, and thorough documentation, all conducted within a supportive rehabilitation facility setting. The PTA will play a critical role in our patient care team, working collaboratively with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

Work Environment

Located in bustling Pembroke Pines, our rehabilitation facility is equipped with state-of-the-art therapeutic tools and facilities that enhance patient experience and recovery. The PTA will work onsite, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, engaging with a steady patient volume of 1-2 patients per hour. This structure allows for focused, personalized care, and gives the PTA ample opportunity to develop relationships with patients and their families, aiding in their overall rehabilitation journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic services as directed by licensed physical therapists, including executing developed treatment plans aimed at improving patient functionality and mobility.
• Develop, implement, and document treatment strategies, obtaining necessary approvals from referring physicians as required.
• Conduct thorough chart reviews to ensure all patient evaluations and treatment modifications are understood and incorporated into ongoing care.
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of various therapies, ensuring safety and proficiency in therapeutic modalities utilized within orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Document patient interactions and treatment sessions accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards.
• Provide education and support to patients' families or nursing staff regarding ongoing therapy plans and caregiver roles as part of discharge preparations.
• Identify and communicate patient care concerns that may influence the effectiveness of rehabilitation protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at North West Physiotherapy, you will primarily engage with outpatient orthopedic patients, treating individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or physical conditions that impact their mobility and physical functioning. You will work with a diverse patient demographic, tailoring treatment approaches to meet varying levels of physical capability and personal health goals.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
• Possession of a current and active physical therapist assistant license in Florida.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with exercise techniques, manual therapy skills, and sports rehabilitation practices is highly desirable.
• Experience in using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and communication.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience.
