Job Summary:

Operating Room Nurse in Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within the operating room environment. The candidate will be responsible for circulating and scrubbing on complex surgeries, including trauma, pediatrics, robotics, and general procedures. Candidates are required to bring their Iowa licensed or compact license on the first day. The role requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses and work scheduled 12-hour shifts. The position is available to start as soon as possible.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum of 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled as per operational needs.
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience in a hospital or medical center, circulating and scrub experience required; proficiency in EPIC electronic medical systems within the previous 3 years; active Iowa/IA license or multistate compact license; BLS (AHA) certification; trauma level II experience; no first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general surgery, davinci Robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular procedures.
• Additional Information: Traveler will be required to float across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran. The contractor must work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). No call responsibilities are noted for this position.
• Certifications: BLS (AHA).
• Licenses: Active Iowa or Iowa multistate/compact license required.
• Work History/Education: Must include 24 months of current operating room experience and skills checklist specific to the discipline.
• Reference Requirements: Professional references within the past 24 months.
• Start Date: 07/06/2026.
• Additional Notes: PWN at UIH Downtown location. No first-time travelers, must have prior travel experience.
