Job Description

Join a growing welding team that manufactures high-quality automotive components, including mufflers, silencers, exhaust tubing, thermal management tubing, and hydraulic and lubrication assemblies. In this role, you use your TIG and MIG welding skills on stainless and mild steel to produce precise, durable parts in a clean, safety-focused production environment. You work in an individual welding booth with strong ventilation and support from an experienced team, with opportunities for training, certification, and long-term advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel components according to production specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine layout, weld types, and sequence of operations.
• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, aligning, and securing parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Set up, operate, and adjust welding machines and related tools to achieve proper weld penetration, bead appearance, and structural integrity.
• Work confidently in multiple welding positions, such as flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead, as required by the job.

Essential Skills

• Proficient MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.
• Proficient TIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel.
• Ability to pass a MIG and TIG weld test demonstrating sound weld quality and technique.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.
• Ability to pass a basic math test, including adding and subtracting decimals and reading inch measurements on a ruler.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
