We are seeking a Bookkeeper to manage the small-business general ledger and support accurate day-to-day financial operations. Reporting to the Business Owner, this role will prepare transactions for month-end close, use accounting software regularly, and assist with payroll preparation and tax documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the small-business general ledger.
• Process invoices and support accounts payable activities.
• Maintain accounts receivable records.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Support payroll preparation.
• Prepare financial reports.
• Maintain accurate ledger records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare tax documentation and transaction records for month-end close.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and preparing financial reports.
• Experience with payroll processing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective time-management skills.

During the spring and summer, we supply annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, bedding plants, and florist-quality flowers. In the fall and winter, our business shifts into fresh winter greens, including spruce tops, wreaths, garland, pine boughs, and other holiday greenery.

We sell to garden centers, landscapers, professional gardeners, grounds maintenance crews, florists, municipalities, restaurants, and other businesses throughout the Minneapolis area, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

We are a family-owned, fast-paced, hardworking, and friendly company. Our winter greens season is busy and physical, and our drivers play an important role by delivering and unloading fresh product for our customers.
