Note: Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to finish (10 or 11 hours on some days) Job Description: The role involves operating a stock picker (cherry picker), requiring the use of a safety harness at heights up to 32 feet. Primary responsibilities include picking orders onto pallets and staging them on the shipping dock. Employees may also be assigned to shipping dock duties, which include printing labels and packing lists, manually stretch-wrapping pallets, and loading trucks. They need to operate MHE. They mainly will operate cherry picker which is type of forklift that they rise up on platform and stack boxes on pallets. Responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Loads and unloads freight from trucks in an efficient and safe manner. 2. Breaks down and separates incoming shipments. 3. Moves products to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate area. 4. Operates any materials handling equipment safely and efficiently as required. 5. Assists in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse. 6. Charges fork lift battery as needed. 7. Checks location of products in OMNI system. 8. Picks orders for shipment and assembles various types of merchandise to be shipped. 9. Counts or verifies freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation. 10. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area. 11. Cleans trailers and truck bays as requested. 12. Verifies receiving receipts from Accounts Payable. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. May stock bins for JIT program. 2. May perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking for shipment as needed. 3. Performs additional duties as directed. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and FORMAL TRAINING: General knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc. Equal to a high school diploma. WORK EXPERIENCE: Up to 3 months. EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND WORK AIDS: Electric and hand jacks, forklift, RF unit, CRT, reach machine, manuals. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS: 1. Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Reaching Extending hands(s) and arm(s) in any direction Handling Seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are in extension of the hand. Fingering Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling). Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work.
