Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Lake Orion, MI that is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical Manufacturing Engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.Job Responsibilities:

• Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
• Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications
• Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
• Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization

• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, computer-generated reports, bills of materials, part specifications, and engineering codes
• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• Working/intermediate-level ability to navigate Teamcenter, Siemens NX, AM, or similar engineering systems; Expert-level design or coding experience is not required, as the primary need is the ability to read, interpret, and navigate information within these systems
• Ability to understand relationships between engineering codes, vehicle parts, and specifications and identify the appropriate match or application
• Ability to learn GM-specific systems, logic, and coding conventions
• Prior GM-specific experience may be helpful but is not required if the individual can quickly learn the processes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
