Make a difference supporting students as a paraprofessional on a contract basis. This role is available immediately and will provide essential assistance in an educational setting through September 21, 2026. Working Monday through Friday, you'll be onsite for 35 hours each week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required; candidates with permits pending or in process cannot be considered.
  • Must be able to present an up-to-date resume alongside the DE para permit.
  • Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Willingness to pay for fingerprinting for background clearance ($85 fee).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students in a high school environment.
  • Reliable and ready to commit to the full duration of the assignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to students and classroom teachers as directed.
  • Help individual and small groups of students with learning activities, behavioral guidance, and daily routines.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive atmosphere in the classroom and school community.
  • Stay adaptable to students’ needs and staff instructions, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, scheduled activities, and any required professional development.

This opportunity offers a meaningful way to gain hands-on experience while contributing directly to the success of a school community. The school requires the paraeducator to secure their own BCBA supervision outside school hours if pursuing or holding RBT certification; this role will be classified and compensated as a paraprofessional.
