Step into a vital role supporting students’ health and wellness by providing essential care as an Elementary School Nurse (RN/CSN preferred) in a respected educational setting near Evanston, IL. With a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, you’ll ensure a safe and healthy environment for elementary-aged children while collaborating closely with staff and families.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid RN license in Illinois (required)
• Professional experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting
• CSN (Certified School Nurse) certification strongly preferred
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Strong assessment and clinical skills appropriate for an elementary school population
• Clear, compassionate communication style and ability to connect with children and families
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver first aid and emergency care to students and staff
• Manage daily student health needs, including medication administration and chronic condition support (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
• Conduct health screenings as required by the district
• Maintain confidential and accurate student health records
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support individualized health plans
• Provide health education to students and staff as needed, promoting overall wellness
• Monitor for contagious illnesses and coordinate with public health resources when necessary
• Uphold state and district health policies, and ensure best practices in student care
