Buy-Side M&A Analyst

At Copper Run , we’re adding a full-time Buy-Side M&A Analyst at our Columbus headquarters to join a dedicated deal team in support of the execution of buy-side engagements across a wide range of industries. You'll work alongside seasoned dealmakers, clients, and company leadership to help deliver outstanding outcomes in the middle market. Role This is more than just a back-office or technical role—it's a front-row seat to the deal process, from sourcing through close. What You’ll Do Conduct market and industry research to support M&A strategy and explore potential acquisition targets Research and evaluate acquisition targets that fit within the scope of the client’s acquisition strategy Conduct direct outreach including calls, emails, and mail to generate deal conversations with executives and senior leadership Input, maintain, and update target and prospect data within the CRM system to ensure accuracy and completeness Develop compelling marketing materials (letters, teasers, pitch decks etc.) Participate in introductory conversations with business owners and clients, capturing key details, needs, and goals Initiate, manage, and organize financial and organizational diligence items Analyze and interpret financial statements Respond to client and target inquiries with professionalism and urgency Assist in training and guiding Interns What We Offer Competitive base salary based on experience Lucrative incentive bonus potential Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, and life insurance Flexible Time Off (FTO) to recharge when you need it Daily lunch provided (yes, every day) Casual-but-professional atmosphere where hard work and personality both matter Ongoing training and hands-on deal experience from day one What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field 1–3 years of M&A, consulting, public accounting, or finance experience Strong communication skills, including comfort with outbound calls High attention to detail and organizational ability Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (plus an eagerness to master new tools) Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work well under deadlines Strong team player mentality—collaborative and positive Must be able to work without sponsorship.
