You'll be a key contributor to a highly skilled, collaborative team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment. A Day in the Life – CNC Metal FabricationAs a CNC Operator / Metal Fabricator / CNC Machinist, your primary responsibility will be the precision machining and fabrication of aluminum components using CNC equipment and automated systems.Key responsibilities include:Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to cut, drill, notch, and machine aluminum extrusions to specificationInterpret shop drawings, cut sheets, and digital programs to ensure accurate productionAdjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances and quality standardsPerform routine machine checks, troubleshoot minor issues, and ensure optimal machine performanceUse automated saws, drills, and CNC equipment to produce consistent, repeatable parts for commercial glazing installationInspect machined components for accuracy, finish quality, and conformance to specificationsMaintain production flow to meet daily and weekly production targetsThis role is primarily focused on CNC machining and metal fabrication processes rather than assembly work. Qualifications for the CNC Metal Fabricator:High School diploma or GED required2+ years of experience in CNC machining, metal fabrication, or manufacturingExperience operating CNC machinery for aluminum fabrication preferredCNC programming experience required.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and schematicsExperience using precision measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and stand for extended periods About Minneapolis Glass:Since 1937, Minneapolis Glass has provided custom glass fabrication and glazing services throughout the Midwest.
