POSITION OVERVIEW

\n

Amped Fitness is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to support the development and construction of new clubs across our rapidly expanding portfolio. This is a highly hands-on construction role responsible for managing projects from planning and permitting through construction, punch, turnover, and opening.

\n

\n

The Ideal Candidate is more than a traditional field Superintendent. Amped Fitness needs a technically strong construction professional who can read and interpret architectural and engineering plans, understand permitting requirements, perform material takeoffs, assist with estimating and cost analysis, identify construction issues, and effectively manage contractors and vendors in the field.

\n

This role will require approximately 50% nationwide travel , with the expectation that the Superintendent will regularly visit active construction sites, conduct site walks with architects and engineers, and provide field oversight throughout the construction process. When not traveling, this position will work from Amped Fitness headquarters in Pompano Beach, FL and participate in project meetings, planning, and development activities.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Construction Management & Field Oversight

\n

\n
• Oversee construction of new Amped Fitness clubs from pre-construction through final turnover, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with Amped Fitness standards.
\n
• Serve as the primary field representative, conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, quality, safety, and compliance with approved plans.
\n
• Coordinate and manage general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, landlords, and other project partners.
\n
• Identify and resolve construction conflicts, delays, deficiencies, and unforeseen field conditions while holding contractors accountable to project requirements.
\n
• Manage inspections, punch lists, closeout, and turnover while coordinating construction timelines with the Development Team and club opening schedules.
\n

\n

Plans, Permitting & Pre-Construction

\n

\n
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and construction drawings for accuracy, coordination, and constructability.
\n
• Work directly with architects and engineers to address field conditions, design questions, plan revisions, and construction issues.
\n
• Assist with or independently manage permitting, plan reviews, inspections, and municipal approvals.
\n
• Support pre-construction planning, project scheduling, site logistics, construction sequencing, and value-engineering opportunities.

\n

Estimating & Cost Management

\n

\n
• Assist with construction estimating, budgeting, bid comparisons, contractor proposals, and scope reviews.
\n
• Perform material quantity takeoffs and review contractor takeoffs and estimates for accuracy.
\n
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
\n
• Review change orders, track project costs against approved budgets, and communicate potential overruns or financial risks to leadership.
\n

Construction Technology & Project Documentation

\n

\n
• Utilize Procore for project management, RFIs, submittals, schedules, punch lists, documentation, and project communication.
\n
• Utilize Bluebeam and AutoCAD to review, mark up, compare, and coordinate construction drawings and documents.
\n
• Utilize estimating and takeoff software to quantify materials and support project budgeting.
\n
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, site photos, reports, inspections, and construction records.
\n

Travel & Project Coordination

\n

\n
• Manage multiple active construction projects nationwide, prioritizing sites requiring immediate attention and proactively escalating project risks.
\n
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to active Amped Fitness construction sites nationwide.
\n
• Conduct site walks and project meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and project partners while providing regular updates to the Development and Executive Teams.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• 5+ years of commercial construction experience , preferably with retail, fitness, hospitality, restaurant, or other multi-unit development.
\n
• Proven experience as a Superintendent, Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, or similar construction leadership role.
\n
• Strong understanding of commercial construction, building systems, construction sequencing, and project execution.
\n
• Experience with commercial permitting and municipal approval processes.
\n
• Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam is strongly preferred.
\n
• Experience with construction estimating or takeoff software.
\n
• Strong understanding of construction budgets, bids, scopes, change orders, and contractor proposals.
\n
• Ability to effectively communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, landlords, and internal leadership.
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in the field.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% nationwide.
\n
• Must be based within reasonable commuting distance of Amped Fitness headquarters in Pompano Beach, FL.
