JOB OVERVIEW

A Night Auditor should provide guests with excellent service at the front desk from making the reservation to departure. The Night Auditor will also respond to guests' needs, requests and complaints. The role includes selling guest rooms, food & beverage outlets and seasonal hotel promotions. They will complete the daily Food and Beverage audit following established policies and procedures, balance all department accounts, and post any remaining charges. The Night Auditor will reconcile room and tax audit, post room and tax to all occupied rooms, balance POS and PMS systems, and close the day. Daily reports are completed for management accordingly.

JOB DUTIES

Balance all department accounts. Reconcile front desk postings and investigate discrepancies. Balance Food and Beverage cashiers’ paperwork to Simphony report. Balance all credit cards to both Simphony and PEP systems. Audit room rates and market codes. Post room and tax to all occupied rooms. Run “End of Day” reports for both POS and PMS systems and close the day. Review Front Desk log when arriving on shift and record pertinent information throughout the shift. Post charges to individual rooms or master accounts. Welcome and register guests expeditiously, provide information to guests as needed, obtain identification and credit/check approval as directed by hotel policy, verify rate and departure date, and confirm or modify information required to complete the registration process. Process accounts of departing guests. Resolve guest problems and complaints. Receive advance deposits at the desk for future reservations and process them in accordance with policy. Adhere to guest safe deposit box procedures. Adhere to policies regarding handling of employees’ cash bank. Reconcile all charges and cash received during shift and prepare drop; ensure the drop is witnessed. Answer all guest questions accurately and resolve problems in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. Authorize revenue allowances as allowed by hotel policy. Sell Hilton Honors Rewards Program to guests. Process mail, messages, faxes and packages. Maintain knowledge of groups and functions in the hotel on a daily basis. Ensure all equipment is in operating order and supplies are adequate; report repairs or supplies that need ordering. Collaborate with other hotel departments to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. Be a team player and encourage teamwork among staff. Attend department and inter-departmental meetings. Notify management of any pertinent information related to shift activities. Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures. Ensure areas are free of safety hazards and perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure total guest satisfaction. Follow supervisor’s instructions and perform other duties as directed or assigned. Assist in safety and maintenance by tracking items in HotSos for the relevant department.
