Provide preoperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort before surgery. Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare patients and optimize outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' health history and current condition prior to surgery.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed to prepare patients for procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes during pre-op phase.
- Educate patients and family members about surgical processes and post-operative care.
- Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure proper patient preparation and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in Meditech and comply with institutional guidelines.
- Valid NM or Compact nursing license required; pending licenses not accepted.
- Minimum of 2.5 years of recent, relevant RN experience in preoperative or PACU settings.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
- Ability to work day shifts (5x8 hours) and be on-call, including weekends.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
