Traffic & Inventory Specialist - ALASKA PACIFIC SEAFOODS (TCS - APS) Department: Traffic & Inventory Specialist This job is located in KODIAK, ALASKA Notes: Short-term housing allowance/housing in the bunkhouse to assist with relocation to Kodiak, Alaska.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Traffic & Inventory Specialist is responsible for all inventory, production shipping and receiving, and logistics coordination functions for the Alaska Pacific Seafoods (APS) facility. The duties cover a wide variety of responsibilities and work tasks. Prepares accurate and timely shipping documents and reports in compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Manages the shipping flow of processed product to align with sales priorities. Coordinates with local carriers on container movement. Works with the QA and production departments to ensure accuracy of product labels, including customer and country specific information and port marks. Develops and communicates container load plans. Oversees bait purchases and sales and local sales of product. Tracks inventory of all products and solves balance discrepancies. Reconciles inventory monthly. Other duties as assigned. Due to the seasonal nature of our industry, this position works extended hours, seven days per week, during peak production seasons. This position is non-exempt from overtime (paid overtime) and reports to the APS Office Manager.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Manages all of the logistics functions associated with processed products, including, but not limited to, labelling, loading, tallying, inventorying, moving, and releasing products. Coordinates with local carriers, sales coordinators, sales managers, and the plant staff to prioritize product shipments. Develops container load plans and communicates these to all parties. Keeps all parties informed about product movement. Prepares accurate and timely shipping documents. Ensures the carriers and corporate sales coordinators have all of the documents and information they need to complete the movement and sale of product. Monitors, maintains and uploads scanner data related to inventory movement into the production system. Identifies and resolves data discrepancies. Works with the QA department, sales and production on labels to verify they are accurate and contain the necessary customer and country information and port marks. Prints labels for case up. Deletes unused labels in the production system. Verifies accuracy of loaded containers before they are sealed. Maintains integrity of the sealing process and physical seals and tracking devices. Oversees all product inventory, including processed products, holding room inventory, and external bait sales. Receives bait and confirms product matches documents. Tracks and reconciles inventories on a monthly basis. Solves balance discrepancies in a timely manner. Processes local sales and bait sales. Maintains organized paper and electronic files. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of experience with shipping and logistics in a data intensive environment. Alaska seafood experience preferred. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to work extended hours, seven days a week, during peak production periods. Ability to work well independently and with others. High degree of integrity and ethics. Ability to maintain professional composure in high stress work environment. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
