Prep Cook

About the Role:

Ballerina Restaurant Inc in Bal Harbour, FL is looking for a talented and motivated Prep Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:

• Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice vegetables, proteins, and other ingredients
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
• Assist line cooks and kitchen staff during service to ensure smooth operations
• Properly store and label food items following FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
• Monitor and rotate stock, alerting management to low inventory levels
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards at all times

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a prep cook, kitchen assistant, or in a similar culinary role preferred
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines (ServSafe certification a plus)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
