Head of E-Commerce & DTC Growth - Fashion
Jainson's International, Inc.
Job Description
The Opportunity
\nJainsons International is looking for an entrepreneurial Head of E-Commerce & DTC Growth to build a new direct-to-consumer business within an established apparel company.
\nThis is not a role where you will inherit an existing DTC team, agency structure or mature e-commerce operation.
\nYou will help create it.
\nJainsons has spent decades building capabilities in women's apparel design, product development, sourcing, manufacturing and wholesale distribution.
\nWe own two women's fashion brands — Rahi and Dizzy Lizzy — and have the ability to continuously design, develop and manufacture new product through our global infrastructure.
\nWhat we have not yet built is a meaningful direct relationship with the consumer.
\nWe believe that represents a major opportunity.
\nWe are looking for the person who can help us build that next chapter.
\nThe Mission
\nYour mission is straightforward but ambitious:
\nBuild a scalable and profitable DTC business using Jainsons' brands, product capabilities and manufacturing infrastructure.
\nRahi and Dizzy Lizzy provide existing brands and product to work with.
\nBut we don't want to artificially limit the opportunity.
\nIf consumer data reveals opportunities for new products, categories, capsules or concepts, we have the ability to develop around those opportunities.
\nOur goal is to create a new growth engine for the company.
\nYou Will Start With a Blank Canvas
\nThere is no large DTC organization waiting for you.
\nYou will work directly with ownership and our existing Design, Product Development, Sales, Operations and manufacturing teams to determine what needs to be built.
\nYou will help answer questions including:
\nWhat should our DTC strategy be?
\nWhich brand or product should we prioritize?
\nWho is our target consumer?
\nShould TikTok Shop be our first major growth channel?
\nWhat should the role of Shopify and our brand websites be?
\nHow should we approach creators and affiliates?
\nWhat content do we need?
\nWhat should we handle internally versus through agencies or specialists?
\nWhat technology and analytics infrastructure do we need?
\nHow should fulfillment and customer service operate?
\nWhat are the right unit economics?
\nWhen should we invest more aggressively?
\nAnd eventually:
\nWho do we need to hire to build the team?
\nYou won't simply execute somebody else's DTC playbook.
\nYou will help create ours.
\nPhase One: Build the Foundation
\nYour initial responsibility will be to establish the DTC infrastructure and operating model.
\nThis may include:
\n- \n
- Evaluate Rahi, Dizzy Lizzy, existing websites, product, inventory and digital assets. \n
- Develop the initial DTC strategy and roadmap. \n
- Determine priority products, consumers and channels. \n
- Establish the e-commerce technology and analytics stack. \n
- Build or improve Shopify/e-commerce operations. \n
- Establish TikTok Shop and other relevant social-commerce channels. \n
- Determine fulfillment, returns and customer-service processes. \n
- Establish reporting and KPI dashboards. \n
- Identify agencies, freelancers, creators, technology partners and other outside resources where necessary. \n
- Establish initial budgets and testing plans. \n
- Create a disciplined test-and-learn process. \n
Phase Two: Find What Works
\nWe do not expect every idea to succeed.
\nWe expect you to test intelligently, measure results and find what works.
\nYou will experiment across:
\nProduct | Price | Creative | Creators | Affiliates | Paid Media | TikTok Shop | Shopify | Email/SMS | Promotions | New Customer Acquisition | Retention
\nThe objective is not vanity metrics.
\nThe objective is to discover a repeatable, scalable and profitable consumer-acquisition model.
\nPhase Three: Scale the Winners
\nOnce we identify products, channels and acquisition strategies that work, your responsibility shifts toward scaling them.
\nThat may include:
\n- \n
- Increasing investment behind successful customer-acquisition channels. \n
- Building a larger creator and affiliate network. \n
- Expanding winning product categories. \n
- Increasing inventory commitments. \n
- Developing products specifically for DTC. \n
- Improving retention and repeat purchase. \n
- Expanding content production. \n
- Building additional digital channels. \n
- Developing marketplace opportunities where strategically appropriate. \n
Most importantly, you will work directly with our Design and Product Development teams to turn consumer data into new product.
\nOur Potential Advantage: Product Speed
\nMany DTC businesses are strong at digital marketing but weak at product development and manufacturing.
\nJainsons is the opposite.
\nWe already know how to design, develop, source and manufacture women's apparel.
\nThat creates an opportunity to build a powerful feedback loop:
\nConsumer Demand → Data → Product Insight → Rapid Development → Test → Reorder → Scale
\nIf a silhouette, fabrication, print, detail or price point starts working, we want to know quickly.
\nThen we want to respond quickly.
\nOur ability to react to consumer demand and rapidly create newness could become an important competitive advantage.
\nRahi & Dizzy Lizzy
\nOur owned brands provide an immediate starting point.
\nYou will evaluate the DTC opportunity for both brands and help determine:
\n- \n
- Target consumer \n
- Brand positioning \n
- Product strategy \n
- Pricing \n
- Website/e-commerce strategy \n
- Social-commerce strategy \n
- Creator strategy \n
- Customer-acquisition strategy \n
- Retention strategy \n
- Assortment architecture \n
But you should not assume every opportunity must fit inside an existing box.
\nWe want someone curious enough to ask:
\nWhat assets do we already have?
\nWhat does the consumer actually want?
\nWhere is the whitespace?
\nWhat can Jainsons uniquely create?
\nWhy This Role Is In-Person
\nThis is a new business being built inside an existing apparel company, not a remote digital-marketing position.
\nWe believe the person building it needs to be close to the action.
\nYou will work directly alongside:
\nOwnership | Design | Product Development | Sales | Samples | Inventory | Operations
\nWe want you seeing new samples when they arrive.
\nWe want you participating in conversations about what we're developing next.
\nWe want you able to pull a garment from a rack and ask:
\n"Could we test this?"
\nWe want Design hearing directly from you:
\n"Consumers are responding to this — can we develop five more versions?"
\nAnd we want you to understand the capabilities of Jainsons well enough to continually identify ways to turn those capabilities into consumer opportunities.
\nPhysical proximity to product and decision-making is an important part of this position.
\nBuild the Team
\nInitially, this will be a hands-on leadership role.
\nYou should be comfortable personally getting into the details while also knowing when to use outside specialists.
\nAs the business proves itself and grows, you will be expected to identify and build the team required to scale it.
\nFuture capabilities may include:
\n- \n
- Performance Marketing \n
- Content & Creative \n
- Creator/Affiliate Management \n
- E-Commerce Merchandising \n
- CRM / Email / SMS \n
- Customer Experience \n
- Analytics \n
- Marketplace Management \n
- Operations \n
We are not looking to build a large team before proving the model.
\nWe want to build intelligently as the business earns the right to scale.
\nWhat We Are Looking For
\nThis role requires someone who has built, not simply managed.
\nIdeal candidates will have:
\n- \n
- 7+ years of relevant DTC, e-commerce, growth or digital-commerce experience. \n
- Experience building or materially scaling a consumer brand. \n
- Fashion/apparel experience strongly preferred, although exceptional beauty, lifestyle or consumer-product experience will be considered. \n
- Deep Shopify/e-commerce understanding. \n
- Hands-on knowledge of customer acquisition and performance marketing. \n
- TikTok Shop and/or social-commerce experience highly valuable. \n
- Creator and affiliate-commerce experience. \n
- Strong understanding of merchandising and product economics. \n
- Experience with email/SMS and customer retention. \n
- Strong analytical and financial understanding of DTC. \n
- Experience hiring or managing digital/e-commerce teams. \n
- Ability to manage agencies and outside partners. \n
- Entrepreneurial mentality. \n
- Comfort building without a large existing infrastructure. \n
You Should Understand the Numbers
\nYou should be fluent in:
\nRevenue | Gross Margin | Contribution Margin | CAC | ROAS | MER | AOV | Conversion Rate | LTV | Repeat Purchase | Return Rate | Inventory Turn
\nWe don't want to celebrate $1 million of online sales if it costs $1.2 million to generate them.
\nProfitable, sustainable growth matters.
\nWhat Matters Most
\nWe care about what you have actually built.
\nCandidates should be prepared to discuss:
\n- \n
- A DTC business you personally helped build or materially scale. \n
- Revenue before and after your involvement. \n
- What you personally owned. \n
- Customer-acquisition strategy. \n
- CAC and contribution economics. \n
- Shopify/e-commerce experience. \n
- TikTok Shop/social-commerce experience. \n
- Creator/affiliate experience. \n
- Team members you hired. \n
- Agencies and external partners you managed. \n
- Major mistakes you made and what you learned. \n
- How you would approach your first 90 days at Jainsons. \n
If you have only worked inside a mature DTC organization where specialists handled acquisition, creative, technology, merchandising and analytics independently, this may not be the right role.
\nWe need someone who understands how those pieces fit together and can build them.
\nWhy This Opportunity Is Different
\nMost entrepreneurs trying to build a fashion DTC company start with an idea — and then have to find designers, manufacturers, sourcing, product development and inventory.
\nJainsons already has decades of infrastructure behind those functions.
\nWe have:
\n- \n
- Established Design and Product Development teams \n
- Extensive apparel manufacturing capabilities \n
- Global sourcing infrastructure \n
- Existing product and inventory \n
- Two owned women's fashion brands \n
- Existing wholesale relationships \n
- Operational infrastructure \n
- Ability to rapidly develop new product \n
- Ownership willing to invest behind opportunities that demonstrate potential \n
You don't need to build the apparel company.
\nYou need to help us build the consumer business on top of it.
\nBenefits:
\n- \n
- 401(k) \n
- Health insurance \n
