Qualifications Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program. Current ARRT certification required. Current mammography certification (ARRT‑M) required. Current state licensure if required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum 1–2 years of recent mammography technologist experience preferred. Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures preferred. Responsibilities Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements, ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Instruct and communicate with the patient and/or patient’s family regarding the test to be performed and assess the patient’s ability to tolerate the exam. Prepare the patient or area for a mammography procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into the specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection‑control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Use proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive mammography procedures and maintain hand hygiene requirements. Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Report issues to management or the appropriate department. Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions taken, consent forms, etc. Focus Staff is an EEO/AA (Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action) Employer.
