g an accomplished, visionary physician leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Hematology & Oncology in the Department of Internal Medicine. This candidate will also serve as the Medical Director of the University Medical Center (UMC) TLC² Foundation Cancer Center.
The selected leader will assume a significant leadership role, anchored by UMC's new 124,000 sq. ft. comprehensive academic cancer center, which opened on April 20th, 2026. The center features:
- Advanced radiation oncology
- Infusion & chemotherapy services
- Outpatient adult and pediatric oncology clinics
- Two pharmacies - dedicated infusion pharmacy and specialty pharmacy
- Dedicated research space
- Clinical trials, Phase I-III, infrastructure
- Integrative medicine services including acupuncture, massage, art/music therapy, yoga and
nutrition - A strong philanthropic base, galvanized by the community's desire for exceptional care, closer to
home
DIVISION CHIEF, HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY
- Provide strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for the Division, the Center, and the service line
- Continuing development of a premier multidisciplinary oncology program recognized regionally
- Direct multi-disciplinary clinical services spanning pediatric through adult, inclusive of surgery, radiation oncology, palliative care, and additional subspecialties, toward a teamoriented, patient-focused program
- Increase clinical trials (Phase I-III) and strengthen collaborations with NCI-, DoD-, CPRIT funded researchers, cooperative groups, and industry-sponsored trials.
- Advance academic scholarship efforts while increasing extramural funding
- As an absolute priority, retain, recruit, mentor, and develop Hematology/Oncology faculty
- Advise and provide oversight of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program
- Leading as practitioner, engage in direct patient care through ongoing clinical practice, inclusive of supervision and teaching
MEDICAL DIRECTOR - UMC TLC2 CANCER CENTERTexas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and UMC Health System seek an accomplished, visionary physician executive to serve as the Medical Director of the UMC TLC2 Cancer Center. - Strategic & Clinical Stewardship: Provide overarching strategic, clinical, and academic leadership to position the cancer center as the destination program for complex oncology care in the region.
- Multidisciplinary Excellence: Drive the integration of multidisciplinary care models, spearhead continuous quality improvement initiatives, and maintain the highest standards of clinical accreditation and patient experience.
- Faculty & Physician Engagement: Cultivate a collaborative medical staff culture; champion physician engagement, faculty development, and the advancement of oncology fellowship and education programs.
- Research & Innovation Expansion: Accelerate clinical trial accruals, expand translational research infrastructure, and foster academic partnerships that elevate the program's scholarly impact.
- Top-Tier Recruitment & Mentorship: Lead strategic physician recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship to build and retain a highperforming, destination oncology team.
- Joint-Venture Alignment: Serve as the critical bridge aligning the academic missions of TTUHSC with the operational and clinical excellence of the UMC Health System enterprise.
- Institutional Ambassadorship: Represent the cancer center with high credibility, distinction, and influence across academic, corporate, philanthropic, and community forums.
