Psychiatric/DD Nurse Part time 15% Recruitment Supplement and 10% Supplement for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Responsibilities At the direction of the Psychiatric/DD Nurse Director, assume primary nursing responsibility for assigned residents, including nursing treatment planning, verification & review of physician orders, chart audits, self‑medication plans, human sexuality programs, medical administration, infection control, physical assessments, and health‑care related scenario programs. Participate in related meetings as required by the supervisor and communicate medical information to parents/guardians when appropriate. Fill in for psychiatric meetings as necessary and work with physicians on a rotating basis – setting up charts, verifying orders from consults, and processing physician orders (e.g., labs, x‑rays, medical appointments). Enter physician’s orders into computerized records and communicate changes in resident status to the interdisciplinary team. Schedule follow‑up care and coordinate medical appointments. Assess and review preventative health screening forms and ensure quarterly physical exams are completed. Assist with feeding, grooming, and self‑care, evaluate client and staff injuries, administer and record first aid, and respond to medical emergencies (first aid, CPR, psychotropic emergencies, etc.) and assist in decision‑making in the supervisor’s absence. Monitor health‑care charts on living areas for proper follow‑up and continuity of care; serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, including collaboration with the client’s physician, and submit reports to the supervisor (IPP input, chart audits, psychotropic medication reviews, self‑medication inputs, and physical assessments). Develop, implement, and evaluate client self‑medication programs; provide health teaching and direction to family, staff, and clients as directed. Assist in orienting new staff, conduct and participate in in‑service training sessions, provide clinical oversight to LPNs, and perform other related duties as assigned (e.g., input on unusual incident reports, complete nursing department shift reports, and ensure proper maintenance and security of the drug cupboard). What’s In It For You Competitive hourly rate of $36.01 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $37.75. Additional shift differential of $1.50 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Additional hourly recruitment supplement of $5.40 per hour. Additional $3.60 per hour for assigned 2nd and 3rd shift and annual increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service. RNs can receive a cost‑of‑living increase every July 1 per the current 1199 bargaining unit contract.
