This role offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic, driven, and customer-focused Direct Sales Representative to join a growing sales team. You will engage directly with residential customers through face-to-face interactions, educating them about available products and services and helping them select solutions that best meet their needs. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy building relationships, working independently, and earning performance-based income in a fast-paced sales environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through door-to-door prospecting and direct sales activities within assigned residential territories.
• Engage potential customers in face-to-face conversations to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Clearly communicate product features, benefits, pricing, and promotional offers to prospective customers.
• Meet or exceed individual sales goals and performance metrics on a consistent basis.
• Complete all sales documentation accurately and efficiently, including customer agreements and payment processing.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and consistent brand presence while representing the company in local communities.
• Follow established sales processes, scripts, and proven selling techniques to maximize sales success.
• Attend team meetings, training sessions, and coaching opportunities to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
• Implement feedback from supervisors and sales leaders to continuously improve sales performance.
• Travel throughout designated sales territories, including occasional out-of-state assignments, to support business growth initiatives.
• Participate in community outreach events, customer engagement activities, and team functions as a brand ambassador.
• Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and training of new sales representatives as opportunities arise.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and sales pipeline updates using appropriate tools and systems.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to share best practices and contribute to overall sales team success.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for managing documentation, tracking activities, and reporting.
• Ability to follow structured sales processes, scripts, and proven selling techniques.
• Comfort with door-to-door prospecting and direct sales activities in residential neighborhoods.
• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Willingness and ability to travel within assigned territories, including occasional out-of-state assignments.
• Capability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet defined sales targets.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining a strong brand presence in the community.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in inside sales or direct sales environments.
• Experience in customer service, retail sales, or telemarketing.
• Experience with outbound calls, cold calling, and appointment setting.
• Skills in closing sales and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to agreement.
• Experience with account management and customer follow-up.
• Exposure to collections or payment processing activities.
• Comfort working with sales metrics and performance-based compensation structures.
• Interest in ongoing professional development, including training, coaching, and education enrichment programs.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role focused on residential territories, with regular door-to-door and face-to-face customer interactions. The standard work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with adjusted hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday during mid-fall and winter. The position involves frequent travel within designated territories and occasional out-of-state assignments to support business growth. You will work closely with a supportive sales team and leadership, participating in regular meetings, training sessions, and team events throughout the year. This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA.

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $40000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
