CDL Delivery Driver

Position Summary The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience. Responsibilities Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you. Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations. Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Provide stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude. Basic Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Minimum Class B License; Class A strongly preferred. Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations. Core Competencies Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity. Physical Requirements Remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time. Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading. Frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed. Constantly move from unloading materials from a commercial motor vehicle onto a job site. Operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle. Judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom. Communicate with management and coworkers; exchange accurate information in these situations. Work outdoors while making deliveries. Required Cognitive Skills Prioritize job sites and deadlines. Manage stress depending on customer’s deadline. Multitask. Receive information and directions. Quickly communicate solutions if problems occur. Demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement. Compensation and Benefits The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Overtime may be available based on business needs. Associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, and a car allowance or automobile and fuel program.
