Senior Financial Planning Analyst

Financial Analysis, Reporting & Accounting Operations Prepare and review monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm accounting standards. Perform balance sheet, cash, and capital account reporting and analysis. Prepare, review, and post monthly and year-end journal entries while supporting the closing process. Analyze general ledger accounts, perform reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Review trial balances and ensure account balances are properly maintained. Prepare monthly financial reports and management reporting packages for senior leadership. Coordinate and lead the firm’s annual financial audit process. Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors and tax professionals. Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects requested by senior management. Cash Management & Banking Operations Monitor firm bank accounts, including multi-currency activity, third-party transactions, and wire receipt reconciliations. Liaise with banking partners regarding daily operations and optimize interest earned on excess cash balances. Manage debt instrument reporting, including loan balances, interest payments, commitment fees, and letters of credit. Coordinate international cash transfers while maintaining appropriate operating balances across global offices. Review and approve bank reconciliations, outstanding checks, and cash activity reports. Partnership Accounting & Partner Reporting Prepare partner distribution schedules, partner payable schedules, and related journal entries. Maintain partner financial data and reporting schedules to support partnership accounting activities. Prepare partner income allocation schedules for upload into accounting systems. Calculate partner return of capital, interest allocations, travel advances, charitable contributions, and other partner-related transactions. Prepare retired partner and senior counsel compensation schedules based on contractual agreements. Support partnership tax reporting by preparing schedules and reviewing partner K-1 information. Internal Controls & Compliance Review and maintain internal financial controls across firm operations. Oversee escrow transactions, monthly reconciliations, and related adjustments. Review cash reporting processes and ensure accuracy between bank statements and financial records. Assist with process improvements to strengthen financial reporting and operational efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required. 3-5+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or finance experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. Experience with partnership accounting, partner distributions, capital accounts, and partner reporting preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Experience with accounting systems such as Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar platforms preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
