Machine Operator

We are currently seeking a Machine Operator for a position in Chattanooga, TN. The ideal candidate will operate multi-spindle automatic screw machines in a dynamic manufacturing setting. This role involves creating precision-machined components with strict tolerances, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting smooth machine operation throughout various shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute setup, operation, and monitoring of multi-spindle automatic screw machines for consistent and efficient performance
• Produce parts according to specifications, meeting quality, dimensional, and tolerance requirements
• Utilize precision measurement tools to inspect and gauge parts during production to maintain compliance
• Adjust machine settings, feeds, speeds, cams, and tooling as necessary for quality output and productivity
• Maintain and replace tooling, drills, taps, inserts, and coolant systems to ensure optimal machine performance
• Handle loading, monitoring, and restocking of bar stock to prevent interruptions in production
• Troubleshoot machine problems and conduct minor adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation such as log sheets and inspection records
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized following 5S and safety guidelines
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow operators during shift transitions

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating multi-spindle automatic screw machines is a must
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of machining principles (speeds, feeds, tooling)
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in machining is beneficial
• Capability to work independently and oversee multiple operating machines simultaneously

Shift/Schedule

• Flexible day and night shift options available
• Night shift premium offered for those working during the evening hours

Compensation

• Competitive pay ranging from $25 to $27 per hour, dependent on experience
• Additional compensation for those working the night shift
