Associate Director, CAR‑T Payer & Value Marketing At Gilead you will lead the strategy and execution of payer‑focused initiatives that shape access to transformative cell therapies across the U.S. This is a critical commercial leadership role responsible for translating clinical and economic evidence into compelling payer value strategies that expand patient access and enable successful in‑line performance and near‑term launches in CAR‑T. Location: Foster City, CA or Thousand Oaks, CA, or Parsippany, NJ What You Will Do Lead Payer Strategy & Value Platform Development Own the development of the CAR‑T payer value narrative, ensuring alignment with evolving reimbursement and access dynamics Design and deliver differentiated value propositions that influence payer decision‑making and support broader adoption Drive strategies that enable expansion of Centers of Excellence and optimize network access Build Best‑in‑Class Payer Tools & Field Enablement Oversee development of critical payer tools (e.g., value story, budget impact models, cost calculators) Ensure tools are insight‑driven, compliant, and tailored to payer‑specific needs Enable field and account teams through training and ongoing support on payer messaging and resources Advance Evidence Generation & Value Communication Partner with HEOR and Market Access to define and deliver evidence strategies aligned to payer expectations Translate complex clinical and economic data into clear, differentiated value communications Ensure evidence supports both in‑line optimization and successful pipeline/launch execution Drive Cross‑Functional Alignment & Launch Readiness Serve as a key connector across Market Access, Brand, Medical Affairs, GACO, and Account Teams Align payer strategy with enterprise commercial objectives and launch plans Collaborate with alliance partners where applicable to ensure unified execution Manage External Partners & Execution Excellence Lead agency of record and vendor relationships to deliver high‑quality, compliant materials Oversee PRC review process and ensure adherence to regulatory and legal standards Manage budgets and statements of work to ensure efficient and effective resource allocation What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) Launch‑ready payer value platform supporting CAR‑T growth and pipeline execution High adoption and effective utilization of payer tools across field teams Strong alignment across cross‑functional stakeholders on payer strategy Delivery of impactful, compliant materials on time and within budget Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience, OR Master’s Degree and 8+ years of experience, OR PhD and 2+ years of experience Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of CAR‑T reimbursement dynamics, including single case agreements and network requirements Strong knowledge of hematology/oncology and cell therapy landscape Expertise in U.S. healthcare economics, including buy‑and‑bill, hospital economics, and payer/provider models Experience developing payer value platforms and contributing to HEOR evidence strategies Demonstrated success engaging with payers, providers, and health policy stakeholders Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills Excellent communication, influencing, and project management capabilities People Leader Accountabilities Create Inclusion – knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way you manage teams. Develop Talent – understand the skills, experience, aspirations, and potential of employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. Provide the feedback and insight needed to grow, develop, and realize purpose. Provide support to remove barriers and connect the team to the broader ecosystem. Salary and Benefits The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 – $253,220.00. Position may also be eligible for discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package.
