"This position is specifically focused on commercial and industrial refrigeration. We are seeking experienced Refrigeration Mechanics/Technicians with hands-on experience troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems. HVAC/R experience is valuable, but strong refrigeration experience is the primary requirement for this position."

We are seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Technician / Refrigeration Mechanic to service and maintain a variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC/R equipment. You will perform daily service calls, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while communicating directly with customers regarding equipment condition, recommended repairs, and preventative measures.

• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related issues.

• Inspect compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and related components.

• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential equipment issues before they become costly repairs.

• Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and completed work clearly to customers.

• Review repair requirements and quotes with customers for approval.

• Maintain accurate service documentation and customer records.

• Work closely with dispatchers and customers to manage daily service calls.

• Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and commonly used replacement parts.

• Follow all OSHA, safety, driving, and company procedures.

• Continue developing technical knowledge across different refrigeration and HVAC/R systems.

First 30 Days:

• Complete orientation covering safety, service procedures, scheduling, billing, and company policies.

• Learn service management and mobile documentation systems.

• Shadow experienced technicians and supervisors on different commercial and industrial jobs.

• Become familiar with different refrigeration systems, equipment, customers, and maintenance requirements.

• Begin independently completing standard service and maintenance work on smaller equipment.

3 Months and Beyond:

• Work independently on commercial refrigeration and HVAC/R service calls.

• Perform thorough diagnostic inspections and identify root causes of equipment issues.

• Troubleshoot compressors, motors, controls, electrical components, and refrigeration systems.

• Maintain strong communication with dispatchers and customers.

• Ensure the service vehicle is properly stocked with common tools, materials, and replacement parts.

6 9 Months and Beyond:

• Handle larger refrigeration and HVAC/R equipment from diagnosis through completion.

• Perform preventative maintenance and identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.

• Build strong, long-term relationships with commercial and industrial customers.

• Handle customer concerns professionally while maintaining a high standard of service.

12 Months and Beyond:

• Become a knowledgeable and dependable technical resource for customers and fellow technicians.

• Troubleshoot and service larger commercial and industrial refrigeration/HVAC-R systems.

• Take ownership of complex service calls and technical problems.

• Assist and mentor newer technicians when needed.

• Continue developing expertise across a broad range of refrigeration systems and equipment.

Required:

• Minimum 1 year of HVAC/R or refrigeration service, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience , or equivalent trade school/apprenticeship experience.

• Commercial or industrial refrigeration experience strongly preferred.

• EPA Universal Certification required.

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate professionally with customers.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

• Commercial refrigeration experience.

• Industrial refrigeration experience.

• HVAC/R service experience.

• Refrigeration, HVAC/R, or electrical technician certification.

• Experience working with compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and related refrigeration components.

• Experience servicing larger commercial/industrial equipment.

• You are a persistent problem solver. You don't simply replace parts-you diagnose the equipment, determine the root cause, and identify the best repair solution.
• You are mechanically and technically inclined. You enjoy working with your hands, troubleshooting equipment, and continuously learning how different refrigeration systems operate.
• You have strong customer communication skills. You can explain technical problems and repair recommendations clearly while building trust with commercial and industrial customers.
• You are dependable and safety-conscious. You arrive prepared, maintain your equipment and service vehicle, follow safety procedures, and take ownership of each service call.
